Linux Campus Club

 

Linux Campus Club is an organization under the department of Computer Science SJCE Mysore India, with a primary goal of fostering the use of free open source software among the students.It was started back in 2004. In this endeavor, LCC was founded with following goals:

 

  • Advocating the adoption of FOSS instead of proprietary software.
  • Educating and training members to use GNU/Linux and associated components.
  • Providing support and guidance for new users.
  • Creating an environment which facilitates free discussion leading to sharing of ideas and knowledge.

 

Our activities include conducting sessions on tools, packages, programming languages and other technical topics related to FOSS, talks by members of open source community, conducting workshops to facilitate hand on experience to supplement the sessions conducted.

Department of Computer Science, SJCE is reputed to be among the best in Karnataka and is dedicated to producing excellent professionals in Computer Science and Engineering, apart from being actively engaged in research programs. The National Board of Accreditation has accredited the department with an 'A' grade for 5 years (Highest possible award) from 2003.
